samedi 9 janvier 2021

Conditions des sentiers au 9 janvier 2021

[English version below]

#15 Postdam : Ouvert. Marche ou raquette.

Ski hors piste : Belle surface croutée portante.

A few more centimetres of snow would have been appreciated. Unfortunately, no flakes despite overcast skies much of the week. There will also be no snow showers expected for the next week. We will therefore have to deal with the snow on the ground, which is not enough to be worked and traced mechanically. The unreached areas last week were not reached again this week because we believe that a mechanical tracing would not add any significant improvement.

IMPORTANT: You are reminded that you must respect your family bubble and distance. In addition, evening skiing is no longer allowed due to the curfew.

Our choices: trails 2, 3 and 4 in the Pincourt area and 7a, 7b, 7 up to the snowmobile trail, and 13 in the area of the Notre-Dame-de-Fatima Centre.  There are still many walkers, mainly at the entrances.

Trail’s conditions:

Old snow packed, thin coverage, approximately 15 cm packed, groomed and mechanical trace or path skiing. Significant risk of rock outcrops and roots in places.

#1 Robert Meilleur: Groomed and mechanically traced on January 2nd. Acceptable conditions, rock outcrops and roots. Poor conditions on the approach to Trail 5. Significant presence of walkers at the Island Blvd. entrance and in the area of Trail 4 to Trail 6.

#2 Les Prés: Groomed and mechanically traced on January 2nd. Conditions acceptable to good. Watch out for overflowing streams in places. Use bypass loops as needed. Entrance to Des Frênes str., a ski-trace route, poor conditions.

#3 L’Érablière: Groomed and mechanically traced on January 2nd. South-west sector, fair to good conditions. South-East sector, poor to acceptable conditions (rock outcrops and roots in places). North sector, nordic, ski-walking trail with poor conditions.

#4 Les Hêtres: Groomed and mechanically traced on January 2nd. Conditions acceptable. Presence marked by walkers and snowshoes.

#5 La Gros Bois: Ski path. Poor conditions. Rock outcrops.

#6 La Perdriolle: Ski path. Poor conditions. Rock outcrops. Trail blocked halfway. A bypass at the edge of the Hydro-Québec right-of-way has been created. We are working to solve this passing problem.

#7 Katimavik: Ski path with variable conditions. Trail 7a, Center Notre-Dame de-Fatima, snow groomed with trace erased. Passage 7a to 7b, trace groomed on plow but acceptable. Trail 7b, and 7 up snowmobile trail, acceptable. From the snowmobile trail to the Perdriolle the conditions are poor. Grooming scheduled on trail 7a west on January 8th.

#8 La Samare: Ski path. No readings. Crowd of walkers so important trampling.

#9 La Colline: Open. Reserved for snowshoeing or walking.

#10 Du Marais: Open. Reserved for snowshoeing or walking.

#11 Du Golf: Groomed and mechanically tracked on January 2nd. Acceptable conditions, root outcrops and roots in places on the off-golf area. Crowd of walkers. Beautiful off-road skiing opportunities on the Golf Floor.

#12 Boisé Marceau: Nordic skiing, ski path.

#13 Quinn: Ski path. Conditions passable to good. Grooming scheduled on January 8th.

#14 Pointe-aux-Renards: Groomed and mechanically traced on January 2nd, no readings.

#15 Postdam: Open. Reserved for snowshoeing or walking.

Chalet Centre Notre-Dame de Fatima: Open this week-end for registration daily and season pass. No equipment on location available.
